Finland's Prime Minister Sanna Marin said on Friday she had undergone a drug test for her own legal protection, after a video of her dancing and singing at a private party was leaked.

Marin defended her actions, saying that she had been drinking with friends but had not taken any drugs.

And a video clip spread on the communication sites, Thursday, in which 6 people appeared at a party dancing and moving their lips on a song, including Marine. Later in the video, the 36-year-old prime minister was shown on her knees as she danced and sang.

I underwent a drug test for my legal protection, and its results will appear within about a week, Marin added in a press conference, Friday, according to a Finnish newspaper.

Speaking in English, the northern European country's youngest prime minister said she did not hold any government meetings that weekend, adding: I spent some of my free time with my friends. I didn't do anything illegal.

According to a Finnish newspaper, Marin Friday told reporters: It must be accepted that even decision makers dance, sing and celebrate sometimes.

And Marin apologized last December for going out and staying up in a nightclub until four in the morning without taking her work-related phone, and then she was not informed that she was in contact with a person who tested positive for Covid-19. She has not tested positive for the virus since.
