Experts say that there are two specific types of foods that should be avoided if a person wants to lose weight and get a fit body.


And the British website Wales Online stated that the first food to avoid is sugar, adding that this is not surprising, given that we eat a lot of sugar in our daily meals (about 700 grams per week per person).


The National Health Service says that the types of sugar that most adults and children in the UK eat are free sugars meaning they do nothing for the body.


The agency advises that adults should not exceed 30 grams of sugars per day  equivalent to approximately 7 sugar cubes  while children between the ages of 7 and 10 years should not eat more than 24 grams of sugars per day.


The second type of foods to avoid, according to Willie's Online, are complex carbohydrates, which are starches.


This type of carbohydrate is found in potatoes, bread, rice, pasta and cereals. All of these foods, provide a good source of energy, should make up just over a third of the food we eat  according to the NHS.


 If these starches make up more than a third of your diet, you're probably eating a lot of food that doesn't benefit your body  she added.
