On Wednesday, the European Union imposed sanctions on 22 high-ranking Belarusian military officers, over Minsk's role in aiding Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

The names of six generals and 16 colonels were included in the European Union's sanctions list because Belarus is participating in an unjustified Russian invasion of Ukraine by allowing military aggression from its territory according to the official list of sanctions.

The sanctions include a travel ban to the European Union and an asset freeze.

The Russian army launched attacks with aircraft and missiles from Belarus, on targets in Ukraine.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko had announced on Tuesday that his forces were not participating in the attack on Ukraine, knowing that he had ordered sending more soldiers to the borders with that country and with Poland, a member of the European Union.

This is the second set of sanctions imposed on Belarus over its role in the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
