A recent study found that women who take hormone replacement therapy to deal with menopause may age more slowly, according to the British Daily Mail.

***Aging slower

The study indicated that women who take hormone replacement therapy to deal with menopause may age at a slower rate.

According to the new spaper, it is believed that one in seven menopausal women in England are on HRT (hormone replacement therapy), which can help relieve symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats and depression.

The study revealed that these women undergoing treatment see a rejuvenating and anti-aging effect in their cells. For women who have not had a hysterectomy.

***Anti-aging effects

The study, published in the journal Genome Biology, added that HRT (hormone replacement therapy) could have anti-aging effects which are likely a mechanism for why women taking HRT may have a lower risk of developing these diseases.

In this context, Dr Chiara Herzog of the University of Innsbruck in Austria, a co-author of the study, said: 'We saw an anti-aging and rejuvenating effect in the cells of women who received HRT (hormone replacement therapy), but unfortunately this does not necessarily mean that, as women will feel decades younger. Or that they have more energy.
